About Dylan Schwartz
Dylan Schwartz is a Sheffield-based photographer and outdoorsman specializing in Outdoor- and Adventure-Sports Photography. Alongside this creative practice, Dylan is a student of Engineering and has contributed to interdisciplinary work, including State-decorated Scientific Research on photo-microscopic imaging.
Formerly a multi-discipline athlete, Dylan spent years moving between niche sports and communities which often lacked media coverage. Through his decade’s worth of experience with photography, he aims to address this disparity by bringing a thoughtful and artistic eye to a field often defined by purely-functional and unimaginative event coverage.
As a climber and an adrenaline-seeker himself, Dylan is not afraid to find unconventional angles for photos; which his climbing and rope-access expertise allows him to do safely. He can often be found with a camera while on skis, roped onto a wall, in cherry-pickers, or shooting top-down from a tree branch.
Partners and Projects
In his first official season of competition climbing, Dylan collaborated with the British Mountaineering Council to cover national and continental championships. His work has since been circulated by some of the sport’s most influential athlete voices.
Outside of competition climbing, Dylan has taken on projects with documentary filmmaking, photojournalism assignments, and standard event coverage. He also frequently works with University sports clubs and teams within other outdoor- and
adventure-focused fields.
